Conversating

I always wonder why individuals use foul language or curse words when conversing. So, I did a poll and the majority said it's their way of getting the point across! or that's their way of expressing anger rather than hitting someone! can you believe that?  Why are curse words a part of our conversation? What purpose does it serve? Why is it in our vocabulary?
